The rating was given based on "the game's level of violence, foul language and depiction of drug use."
Blizzard were given a 30 day period to challenge the decision and a representative of the company has said that an appeal has already been registered with the board.
PR representative Bob Colayco says that the rating was based on an early build of the game and that it had submitted a new build to "address the Game Ratings Board's concerns."
Lead producer Chris Sigaty has stressed that he does not feel this will delay the release of the games touted for release in Q3 of 2010.
If the appeal fails it will surely be a massive blow to Blizzard and the game that has such traction in the e-sports arena in Korea even receiving regular prime time TV slots.
