Competitors in the 2010 FIFA Interactive World Cup 2010 Grand Final are gearing up for their trip to Barcelona.

With over 750,000 players taking part throughout the qualifying stages of the competition, the record for for most competitors in a virtual sports competition has been well and truly smashed.

The finals are set to be hotly contested as the reigning champion Bruce Grannec from France will face a highly competitive field including a number of previous Grand Finalists such as FIWC 2008 winner Alfonso Ramos.

The overall winner will receive a cheque for $20,000.

I wonder was did any Irish Guys take part? or even qualify? This is why Ireland needs base for Competitive Gaming in Ireland! We need to have info about stuff like this for us to get a chance to represent Ireland at the big events!

I couldn't agree more. Hopefully this website will bring together a community who are aware of some competitive gaming events so that we may enter them.
